We are excited to welcome students back for the first day of school!
This past Friday, we celebrated our former Program Administrator, Kim Mehrkens', retirement. Kim worked for the Regional Alternative School for almost 30 years. She will keep busy in her retirement by working part-time at St. Mary's Catholic School in Pontiac. And you may even see her as a substitute teacher at RAS! Thank you, Kim!
Last week, students in Ms. Z's ecology class created soda can holders out of recycled materials without plastic.

Due to forecasted extreme sub-zero windchills, The Regional Alternative School- Livingston County will have an E-Learning Day on Tuesday, January 21. There will be no in-person attendance.
Students should follow the E-Learning guidelines that were reviewed last week.

Congratulations to the RAS Livingston County staff on the completion of the inaugural NAEA Exemplary Practices cohort. Hard work, reflection, and correction were the norm for all RAS Livingston County staff as they engaged in meaningful work to further advance their school and program.

The Regional Alternative School-Livingston County will be closed today, Tuesday, November 5 for election day. Regular classes will resume tomorrow on Wednesday, November 6.

School picture day is coming up on Tuesday, September 17. All students will have their picture taken and receive new school IDs. Parents and guardians will receive picture order forms via email.

Hey RAS students! Make sure you are registered with your home schools!!! You and/or your family will be receiving a call soon to schedule an orientation meeting at RAS! It's gonna be a great year!
Tomorrow, Friday, March 8 is a remote day for all RAS students. Students are required to work a minimum of 3 hours on their Edmentum classes. Should students not complete the required time online, they will receive an unexcused absence and will be required to restart their current level.

Due to weather conditions RAS LIVINGSTON COUNTY will be having a remote learning day today, Friday, January 12. Students are to work from home. There will be no school on Monday, January 15 in honor of Martin Luther King Day. See you on Tuesday! Stay safe!
Today, some of RAS’ seniors, Mr. Earley, and Mrs. Corrigan attended “Adulting Day” at Heartland Community College. Students attended workshops and speakers about potential careers and 21st century skills. Thank you to Victoria and all of the ROE #17 staff for planning an amazing day for our local students.
Students in Mr. Earley’s Environmental Science class have been hard at work harvesting and processing honey from our beehive.

Seniors will have the opportunity to participate in a special program being presented by the Regional Office of Education. Friday, October 28 there will be an "Adulting Day" at Heartland Community College in Normal. Transportation will be provided. More specific information will be provided to those participating! This will be a regular attendance day for all students not attending the workshop.

It is already time to schedule our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Conferences will be held Thursday, October 13 from 3 PM to 6 PM and Friday, October 14 from 8 AM to 11:30 AM.
